Two part optically clear silicone potting compounds
Fong Yong SSL-302 is a low-viscosity, two-component, optical-grade high light transmittance potting and encapsulating silicone resin for the production of optical components and other electronic compounds which require high light transmittance finishes. The silicone rubber has good anti-aging properties. SSL-302 can be cured at room temperature with capability of cured to a thickness of more than 1 inch. The weight mixing ratio is 10:1 or 20:1. No harmful outgassing released during curing. SSL-302 is solvent free. Its low viscosity allows it to flow around the housing and components. The liquid silicone mixture is cured into a flexible elastomer, which is suitable for protecting electrical and electronic assemblies. The two part optically clear silicone potting compounds has flexibility, high temperature resistance, good electrical insulation and excellent long-term light transmission, and has a good protective effect on mechanical shock, humidity, chemicals and other environmental factors.
SSL-302 is suitable for applications involving sensitive optical and electronic components. Some other special uses include encapsulating LEDs and potting connectors.

What environment is silicone rubber NOT suitable for? | Conventional silicone rubber is not suitable in environments where it comes into contact with oils fuels and solvents. However, performs excellently under such conditions. Silicone rubbers in general also have poor resistance to steam and super heated water. |

Can I apply new silicone on old silicone? | For the best adhesion, we recommend removing the old silicone. New silicone will bond to old silicone, but the bond is not as strong as if it is adhered to a clean surface. If you choose to apply over old silicone, the warranty is void. |
